Company Background

Born out of a discovery of the versatility and sustainability of hemp as well as a desire to do right by our natural environment, Kash Singh founded Primea, an online retailer, in 2023 with the dream of bringing products that are good for the earth to marketplace. Primea is a derivative of the Latin word Prima and simply means 'first' or 'most important’, and as such Primea.earth was set as the domain name so as to emphasize what the company considers to be top priority.

Challenge

Onboarding assortment as quickly as possible

As a new-to-market retailer looking to sell both B2B and B2C, the company’s first priority was to onboard products for sale as quickly as possible.

With verticals across multiple product segments to focus on, it became imperative to implement a solution that would be optimise the process of onboarding to be more efficient and accurate. That's where the roadblocks began to appear.

One way was to hire an intern locally. But what would prove to be neither time nor cost effective. Finding a reliable one with the skill set and experience to work independently comes with a heftier price tag and even then it was not always smooth sailing.

Kash tried using outsourced help via Upwork, but the service was unreliable and inaccurate.

As the old saying goes, if you want something done right, do it yourself. However, doing it himself, Kash got caught up with boarding tasks that were time consuming and not contributing towards building more business. And it was a waste of his talents and most of all, his time.

He was spending all of his time doing low-value but necessary manual data entry work. And that got in the way of the essentials required to run the company and grow.

Solution

End-to-end automation of new products onboarding into market-ready listings

As a lean setup, utilizing automation tools to fuel Primea’s growth seemed the best wat forward. When Trustana met Kash, he immediately saw the value in Trustana’s Onboarder solution and was setup within 5 days. 

Trustana immediately ingested Primea’s backlog of SKUs, transforming the scarce data that suppliers provided into sale-ready product listings for Primea’s Shopify pages. Within 2 weeks, Primea was able to obtain the first batch of enriched SKUs.

Besides filling in any gaps in data that the supplier left out, Trustana also transformed the SKU data to then fit Shopify’s system, including handling variants.

With Trustana, Primea was able to transform their new SKU onboarding process, saving over 200 man-days of work. Not only has this taken a massive load off of Kash, but also enabled him to go-to-market with products quicker, resulting in increased sales potential.
